Come Racing To Me

July 13, 2020

Owning a dog that does not come when called can be inconvenient, severely limit the amount of fun you can have and be extremely dangerous.  My goal, when I call my dog is that it comes racing to me.

Do you think these dogs can learn to come when called?

Neither is a breed known to be easy to train.

These owners must be feeling some degree of frustration, embarrassment, or even anger with their dog’s behavior. But they don’t have to. Their dogs can learn to come when called, and so can yours.

I am going to share the five principles I put in place to teach dogs to come racing to me when I call.  They include:
#1 – Generously reward correct behavior
#2 in the beginning, only call your dog when there is a high likelihood your dog will come.
 #3 Only call once.
#4 Immediately, get your dog if it does not come when called.
#5 The two minutes after your dog does come is critical. Don’t accidentally punish your dog by doing something your dog dislikes during this time.

So the proof is in the pudding

Watch the dogs you saw earlier, enthusiastically come to their owner regardless of what is going on.

And watch as these and other owners apply the principles you just learned.

These dogs learned to come even when there are irresistible distractions in our group classes or private training.

The reason they have been successful has nothing to do with their dog. The reason these dog lovers have been successful is because their owners applied our training games that include:
 • motivation enhancement
 • pay attention training
 • games that use the principles you just learned during structured training sessions and real-life events.

Now, these owners can confidently take their dog off-leash at the beach, on hikes, at the park, or where ever they go increasing the amount of fun and pleasure they experience they have with their dog.

And your dog can learn this too regardless of its breed or age.  Your dog can be remarkable at coming when called. I love helping people teach their dog to come when called. Let me help reduce frustration and danger to your dog with this training.

You have seen the great results and transformation we produce.
