My puppy is to young for classes but I need help

Is your puppy really too young for classes? Let’s see!

The American Veterinary Behavior Association states puppies should start in puppy classes at 8 weeks of age.  But it is with conditions.

Condition 1 is – The puppy is healthy
Condition 2 is – The puppy is up to date on its vaccines

I know, right now you are thinking, “but my puppy isn’t yet fully vaccinated”.  I understand, you are scared. You are scared your dog will contract a contagious disease.  That is scary!

But statistics show the epidemic that causes dogs to lose their lives is not a disease but behavior issues.  This is veterinarians that specialize in behavior that are saying

“the risk of infection is relatively small compared to the chance of death from a behavior problem.“

Action Plan for puppy Training

The Well-Mannered Dog, is here to help you. Start training with socialization classes and, advance onto manners and getting your dog to listen. If your dog is up to date on vaccines, healthy and at least 8 weeks of age, you can start training today.

If your dog is not healthy, up to date of vaccines, or yet 8 weeks of age then the path is to attend give us a call so we can customize a protocol for you.
