Puppy Head Start
For Puppies under 16 weeks old

Puppies change fast.  One day they sleep alot and the next they are up, going and into everything.

Puppy Head start is where puppies learn, learning is fun.  These positive puppy training classes are designed to help young puppies grown confidence, develop good manners and discover how to learn in a structured environment.

In this class, puppies and their people work together to grow foundation skills that set the stage for a lifetime of good behavior. Using reward based training methods, we focus on teaching puppies how to think, focus, and engage with their person while exploring the world around them.

We’ll cover how to train:
• Recalls
• Sit, down,
• leash skills
• Polite greetings
• Manners
• Go to bed
• Positive Handling for grooming and vet visits
• Confidence with positive exposure (socialization) and play when appropriate (in-person class only)

Our puppy training is about growing a strong relationship between you and your puppy while giving them the confidence and skills to succeed in everyday life. Start building great habits from the start.

We follow and advocate for the best training practices for Puppy Classes as outlined by the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB)

How do cancelations work?

Payment is required at the time of registration to hold your space in class. Because we know that sometimes life gets tricky, and schedules change If you give us a 48 hour notice of cancellation prior to the first class, we will apply the cost to a future class. Thank you for understanding that classes cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice have prevented others from registering and that you forfeit the cost of the service.

What kind of training do you offer

We believe all training can be conducted with respect for the dog and not ntimidation, pain, or fear.  Clients are encouraged to use any rewards their dog loves (food, toys, play, social contact, etc.) and are driven to obtain.

In addition, we go beyond teaching behaviors and teach the concepts your dog is missing (calmness, self-control, disengagement etc.), and we do it all with games.

How do I know it will work?

Success is dependent upon the human part of the team.  It is for people willing to:
• take action,
• make changes to what they are presently doing,
• come to class,
• watch the videos, use their handouts, and play the games.

If that is you, sign up, and you will succeed.

How much time does this take each day?

Most games are 3 minutes daily with a maximum 5 games each week.  That is only 15 minutes a day of training.
